|8:30am - 10:30am||FSU Dance Open House||Montgomery Hall||Please join FSU Dance for coffee, tours of its performance, studio and technical spaces in Montgomery Hall and an opportunity to view studio courses in action. Do not miss this opportunity to get to know FSU's Top 10 Dance program and visit Montgomery Hall, which was rededicated in 2005 after a major renovation to transform FSU's historic and beloved gym and indoor pool into the home of FSU Dance and the FSU Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography.|
|10:00am - 8:00pm||Paint-a-Pot||Oglesby Union Art Center||For good family fun come to the Art Center on Friday, September 30th and Saturday, October 1st and paint a pot, a cup, or plate. Your creative piece of art will be ready for you to pick up the following day.|

FSU Family Connection would like to invite you to participate in the 5th Annual Garnet and Gold Fall Auction! This event is a silent auction during Parents' Weekend 2016 where you will have the opportunity to bid on prizes for you and your student!
The auction will take place on Friday, September 30th from 12pm-4pm in the Art Gallery located in Krentzman Lounge in Oglesby Student Union. Auction items include special deals at local shops and restaurants, leisure and recreational packages, themed gift baskets, signed FSU memorabilia and much, much more!

Judy Chicago's Birth Project: Born Again. See a number of exhibition units with textiles; a series of preparatory drawings done by Chicago to develop imagery for the textiles; as well as a series of Birth Project images re-created by Chicago in print form.
The Museum of Fine Arts hours are Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm and Saturday–Sunday, 1:00pm - 4:00pm. Admission to the Museum is free.

|3:00pm - 4:00pm||Family Mixer||University Housing||University Housing and the Inter-Residence Hall Council (IRHC) will be hosting a mixer for residential students and their families on Friday, September 30th, 3 — 4pm, in the Askew Student Life Center lobby. University Housing staff and student leaders will be available to answer questions, share information, and showcase involvement opportunities while living on campus.|

Alaskan Fiddling Poet, Ken Waldman, brings a roots music variety show to launch Parents' Weekend at FSU. Waldman, who has six full-length poetry collections, a memoir, and nine CDs that combine Appalachian string-band music with original poetry, specializes in assembling big talents for one-of-a-kind shows. Here, he's joined by a trio of wild multi-instrumentalists from Michigan and Alabama – The Corn Potato String Band; a pair of percussive dancers (and musicians) from New Orleans – Dan Wally Baker and Emolyn Liden; Gainesville fiddle and banjo champ – Chuck Levy; and local treasure – Frank Lindamood.
The Austin Chronicle says of Waldman's shows: "Always recommended." According to the Denver Post, "Renegade Americana."
Everybody tours internationally. Tonight they're congregating in Tallahassee. Expect an evening of fun, inspiration, and surprises, including special guests and impromptu collaborations.

For those of you who are joining us for this event for the first time, the 5K Fun Run/walk will begin at 8AM. We encourage you to come to the Oglesby Union Green at the Oglesby Union by 7:00 AM to complete your registration. The race will begin near Integration Statue and will start out heading east on Legacy Walk. Our award classifications are listed on the waiver form. The course will take you through the hilly, picturesque campus of FSU, past many of our popular landmarks. Thank you for participating in our popular Fun Run, be safe and have fun!

There will be a female and a male winner for each age category.
